MM6 Maison Margiela
Maison Martin Margiela is an iconic brand in fashion history with an invisible founder who eludes photographers and journalists for over three decades and gives interviews by fax. Margiela boutiques are not listed on maps and in phone books; their models are wrapped in nylon and the brand’s inconspicuous identification mark are ragged white seams.
The MM6 line appeared in 1997. It consisted of basic pieces for the everyday wardrobe. Since 2014, MM6 has been supervised by John Galliano, who replaced Martin Margiela at the helm of the brand. MM6 is simply ahead of fashion and seems to ironically mock modern art when it destroys the conventional forms and stereotypes.
